Family members and caregivers help shape our work by sharing insights, experiences, and perspectives grounded in the realities families navigate every day.

Guided by the voices of families and caregivers

Our family advisory council brings together caregivers and family members from across Ontario whose experiences help inform our priorities, initiatives, and approaches to system improvement.

The council helps ensure our work stays connected to the realities families experience while navigating mental health, substance use health, and addictions services for children and young people.

When you engage families and caregivers, you are speaking to the heart of healthcare. Families often provide most of a young person’s care outside clinical settings — we see what others may miss, what works in real life, and where young people fall through the gaps.

— Angie Hamson, Family Engagement Specialist
