Right time, right care

Building stronger connections between schools, community agencies, and mental health partners to help children and young people access coordinated care and support.

Right time, right care

Connecting care across communities

Children and young people move between schools, community services, and other supports every day. But systems are not always designed to work together seamlessly.

Right time, right care (RTRC) helps strengthen collaboration between education and mental health partners to support more connected, responsive, and integrated care pathways across Ontario.

Working together across sectors

We are working alongside School Mental Health Ontario, Youth Wellness Hubs Ontario, Children’s Mental Health Ontario, and the Lead Agency Consortium to move Right time, right care from a shared vision into practice within local communities.

Building connected systems takes time

The RTRC implementation process takes time and long-term commitment. Ongoing work with school boards and community-based agencies will guide implementation processes and improve collaboration between schools and community-based mental health services.

Implementation supports

To help communities put RTRC into practice, a collaborative support program grounded in implementation was created.

Implementation guide

Supports implementation efforts and collaboration between schools and community agencies.

Coaching support

Helps build capacity, solve problems, and improve implementation processes over time.

Community of practice

Encourages peer learning, shared experiences, and problem solving across communities.
