Emerging topics and issues
Why this work matters
What children and young people are experiencing today looks very different than it did even a few years ago. Families and service providers are adapting in real time as new pressures, technologies, and questions continue to emerge.
This work creates space to explore those changes, share knowledge, and better understand how they may shape well-being, care, and support across Ontario.
Listening and learning
We stay close to what children, young people, families, and service providers are experiencing in their day-to-day lives and communities.
These conversations and experiences help shape the emerging issues, questions, and areas of exploration that guide this work.
Areas we’re exploring
Technology use and AI
Technology and artificial intelligence are shaping how children and young people learn, communicate, and express themselves.
This work explores how digital environments and emerging technologies impact well-being, experiences of care, and the quality of services children, young people, and families receive. It also looks at how these technologies influence service delivery and decision making.
Let’s keep the conversation going
We’re always looking to hear about emerging issues, evolving needs, and new ideas shaping child and youth mental health, substance use health, and addictions care.
If there’s an issue, trend, or opportunity for collaboration, we’d love to hear from you.
