Stronger systems. Better care.

We help strengthen Ontario’s child and youth mental health and addictions sector by focusing on areas where coordinated, evidence-informed action can have the greatest impact.

We focus on three core priorities that guide how we support the sector:

Strengthen knowledge‎

Equip service providers with up-to-date knowledge, evidence, and practical tools that strengthen services and support informed decision making across the sector.

Accelerate systems change

Bring together leaders, service providers, decision makers, young people, and families to support shared priorities and coordinated action across sectors.

Mobilize evidence

Leverage evidence, share knowledge, and generate new learning that helps strengthen child and youth mental health and addictions services across Ontario.

Guided by lived
and living expertise

Better systems are built through collaboration, shared learning, and the lived and living expertise of young people and families.

"When you’ve experienced the system alongside your child, you notice gaps that others might not see. Contributing to The Knowledge Institute’s quality standards has given me the opportunity to help shape approaches that better support families before those gaps become barriers to care."

— Kelly-Lynn Musico, Family advisory council member

“Young people bring a different lens. They are living this stuff right now. They see what is working or not working in real time. They understand the pressure, the stress, and the gaps.”
