Equity, diversity, inclusion and, anti‑racism

Fostering a more inclusive, equitable, and culturally responsive mental health, substance use health, and addictions system.

Equity, diversity, inclusion, and anti-racism

Why this work matters

The child and youth mental health and addictions system doesn't work for everyone. Many inequities and disparities make accessing quality care more difficult for certain groups, often leading to poorer health outcomes.

Barriers can include prejudice and discrimination, implicit bias, systemic gaps, and social determinants of health.

Supporting meaningful change

By prioritizing anti-racism, enabling identity-affirming care, and advancing reconciliation, we help ensure services better reflect the diverse needs of children, young people, and families.

We work with partners across Ontario to identify priorities, share knowledge, and address barriers to care.
