Knowledge and evidence resources, Transition years, Substance use and addictions

In 2023 we released an extensive report on the state of child and youth substance use services in Ontario. The report details key priorities, challenges, successes, and urgent needs, based on input from consultations with system leaders, service providers, young people, and families.
Working with our Youth Advisory Council, we created a version of the report that's written for young people, by young people. It's short, easy to understand, and youth-friendly!
Our talks with young people identified four common needs and priorities:
- Staff and training
- Youth-focused resources
- An integrated system
- Service improvements
Agencies, service providers, system leaders and anyone in between can share this resource with young people who want to learn more about the needs and priorities in substance use and addiction services in Ontario.
